A Little bit about Me

"I often get asked why I decided to become a wedding planner, so thought I would share it with you too.
It all started when my sister-in-law got married. On the morning of her wedding she turned up at the hotel with an armful of things left to do. She had no-one to help her organise and coordinate the simple things, like unloading her car, delivering the cake to the venue and meeting the florist (to name a few) all before having her hair and make-up done, having the Photographer and Videographer do their bit, getting dressed, grabbing a bite to eat (very important!) and making sure the little bridesmaids were getting ready and having their hair done etc..
As the rest of her family and friends were busy getting themselves ready, she thought she could manage everything by herself, she didn’t realise how time consuming and stressful all the little things could be. She was fast becoming very upset and upon seeing this I decided to take over and told her to sit down, relax and be pampered; she needed time to prepare for her big day. The last thing I wanted to see was a bride getting upset on the morning of her wedding. I then spent a lot of the day helping out and becoming a bit of a go-between for the bride and just about everyone who had a question for her.
I really enjoyed the role I undertook and it was in the days following that she suggested I did it for a living as she felt I was an invaluable part of her day.
I then, thinking what a fantastic idea, decided to do the Diploma from the National Institute of Wedding Planners, which I enjoyed very much and proudly passed with Merit. I am naturally an organised person and enjoy helping other people, so thought what a perfect career for me to embark on."

I am listed on the Register of Approved wedding Planners, please click on this link for more information.

I have been the Secretary of the Langdon Hills NSPCC fundraising committee since January 2009 and each year hope to hold an annual Charity Ball. Last year was our first one and we managed to raise just under £7,000 for the Child Voice Appeal, this was with just 150 guests, this year we have 250 places and hope to go over £10,000!!
It will take place on 22nd May 2010 at Stock Brook Manor, Billericay.
